Teachers can see and manage all of their students' grades using the Gradebook page in eKadence. By using the arrow keys on a keyboard, teachers are also able to navigate through the different cells.


Gradebook Tools

On the Gradebook screen, teachers will be able to see their whole student roster as well as their corresponding grades. Teachers are presented with many tools that are useful in navigating through the Gradebook. Please see the corresponding image below for more details on the different tools.


Sort - This dropdown allows teachers to sort the activities by Publish Date, Due Date, or Activity Name.


Filter - Teachers can select different settings for what to show or hide.

  • Show Only Ungraded - This will only show activities that are not marked grading complete
  • Include Future Activities - This will include activities that have a publish date scheduled in the future
  • Include Inactive Students - This will include students who have dropped the class into view
  • Filter by categories - This will allow you to select which grading categories to show in the gradebook view


Actions - The Actions menu allows for three different settings shown in the image below.

  • Add grade-only activity - Allows teachers to create an activity that does not require submission or reminder for students.
  • Recalculate class grades - Allows teachers to recalculate the class grade.
  • Export to CSV - Will download a file of the current gradebook onto the currently used computer.


Activity Name Filter - If teachers have any activities with similar names, then they can search for a keyword to find specific activities


Student Name Filter - If teachers want to find students quickly, they can search for a student's first or last name.


Class Grade Average - This displays the average grade for the entire class.


Student Grades

At the left side of each row, you can see each student's overall grade. Clicking on the student's name or overall grade will open that student's grades for the class.


Gradebook Activity Dropdown

Hovering over an activity will display the dropdown menu. Features on this menu will be listed below:

  • Name of the activity (Ex: Discussions Content Test Assignment)
  • Sort by - Grade (lowest to highest) or Grade (highest to lowest)
  • Mark Grading Completed
  • Score Report - Statistics on student's answers
  • Message Student - Send an email to students who have no submission yet, no grade yet, score lower than a certain value, or score greater than a certain value
  • Import Scores - Import grades from an Excel file
  • Assign Global Skill Assessment
  • Force submit all students
  • Unsubmit all students
  • Rename Activity
  • Remove From Gradebook
  • View Activity
  • View Activity Settings
