ePortfolios are a great way for students to showcase work that they have done on eKadence. Teachers can have ePortfolios automatically created for each student in a class and select which activity submissions to add to their class ePortfolio automatically.
- To enable this feature, teachers will need to first go to the Setup Class page of their desired class. Then tick the checkbox next to Automatic Class ePortfolios under General Information. This setting is section specific. Therefore, in a class with linked sections, changing this setting in one section will not apply that change to the other linked sections.
- Now teachers will need to select which activities they want to auto-populate in each student's ePortfolio. To do this, go to the settings for each of those activities and tick the checkbox next to Add to Class ePortfolio under General Details. This setting is available for Assignments, Assessments, and Discussions. If you do not see this setting for these types of activities, please go back to step one.
- When students submit activities with the above setting enabled, their submission will populate automatically in their class ePortfolio. If a student resubmits, the content block in the class ePortfolio will also be updated automatically.
- To view your students' ePortfolios, go to the Students tab of the class. Under the Actions column, there will be a link to View Class ePortfolio for each student with a generated ePortfolio. If a student does not have this option that means that they have not yet made a submission for an activity with the Add to Class ePortfolio setting enabled.
- Now students can customize their ePortfolio to give it their own personal touch.
