Rubrics are a common way to grade based on a set of criteria. In eKadence, you can set up and manage rubrics to use for grading different types of activities.

You can access and manage your Rubrics in the user settings (shown below), class settings, and activity settings. Users can create a new rubric from scratch or import a previously made rubric. Users can also print your rubric or export it to an excel file.

  2. You can name your rubric, select the school this rubric belongs to, and write a description of what this rubric will be used for.

How to Use Your Rubrics

  1. When you want to use a rubric for an activity, in the activity's settings under the Grading section, open the dropdown under Rubric and select the desired rubric.
  2. Then when students go to their assignment to fill out their submission they can see the rubric you chose to the right of the screen.
  3. After the students have made their submissions and you are ready to grade, in the Quick Grader, you will see the rubric on the right side and select the points the student earned for each criterion. If you need to see the whole rubric you can click on the two overlayed boxes icon in the top right.
  4. Then the grade will be auto-calculated in the Total score section at the bottom.
  5. Now you are set to finish grading the rest of your students.
