How To Use The Multiple Choice Questions Feature
General usage
When using the format of the multiple-choice questions, the user can use the format in any of the given activities. Begin with the activity that you would like to edit and you should see the content editor. Click on the Work/Questions tab at the top left. Mouse over + Insert Content then click on the Multiple-Choice option. In the content block, please begin by filling in the question/statement that would be used in the multiple-choice question
Point Value
To the right of the textbox for the question name, there will be a button to assign point values to the question. With this feature, the teacher may set a point value for however many points the question is worth as well as mark the question for extra credit or not.
Editing Answers
Beneath the textbox and point value button, the user will be presented with the answer section. The answer section will default to provide one answer; however, teachers will be free to add as many answers to their liking by clicking on the + Answer Choice button. Since teachers are able to add answers, they will also be able to delete answers by clicking on the small "x" icon at the far right of the answers that they would like removed. Teachers have the ability to choose which of the answers given are correct. This can be done by selecting the checkbox to the right of the answers. (Teachers also have the ability to choose whether a single answer, multiple answers, or all of the answers can be correct for the given question.)
Full vs. Partial Credit
If there is more than one answer that can be correct in the given question, a new feature appears in the content block labeled: "All or Nothing". When this feature is enabled, the student must select all of the correct answers in order to receive any credit for the question. When the feature is disabled, however, the student may receive partial credit for any answers that were correctly selected.
Locking Choices
Locking one of the choices in the multiple choice will maintain that choice at that index in the list. For example: if you have multiple choice questions and wish the last option to always be "All of the above", you can simply lock that last option. Only the other options will have their order randomized when displaying to students.
Lock All Answers
When the "Lock all answer choice positions" is enabled, the order of the answers that you have set will be the same order for all students. Likewise, when the feature is disabled, then the order of the answers will be randomized for all students.
After you have chosen the correct answer and all of the settings for the multiple-choice questions are in satisfactory order, then click on the Save button to create it.
